ABOUT THE FILMS:
At the beginning of the 20th century, moving pictures were a new technology that had not yet become the art of cinema or film that we know today. While the general public were still astonished at the concept of photography itself, avant-garde artists of the time immediately saw the creative potential in the medium and began experimenting with the medium.
This special retrospective of classic avant-garde cinema includes a selection of short films created by and inspired by early 20th century avant garde artists including EDWARD MUYBRIDGE // MAN RAY // SALVADOR DALI // LUIS BUÑUEL // GEORGE MELLIERE // MARCEL DUCHAMP // WASSILY KANDINSKY // OSKAR FISCHINGER and more.
