ABOUT THE FILM:
“Self-referentiality, impeccable stunts and eye-popping cinematography: Keaton's grace and visual wit are unmatched even today.” -Sunday Times
Buster Keaton is revered as one of the true comedy masters of the silent film era and SHERLOCK JUNIOR is celebrated as his most highly imaginative and inventive comedy. At times both surrealist and absurdist, the film explores ideas of reality and cinema through experimental filmmaking techniques, offering social and philosophical commentary about fantasy and the enchanting, mythical qualities that cinema possesses. This gives Keaton great artistic license to go fully surreal during the film, showcasing not only the magic of movies on an emotional level but the magic of the craft itself.
This special once-only screening brings this classic silent comedy to life with an original soundtrack by local musicians Dr. Martini Jazz for contemporary audiences - breathing new life into this cinema classic and blurring the line between live music performance and cinema experience.
This is a Darwin Ski Club members and guests event - all tickets include membership to the Darwin Ski Club association.
